The Resident Assistant assists residents to ensure their cleanliness, nourishment, rest and activity are in a manner conducive to the residents' comfort and safety. The Resident Assistant performs all the duties of assisting with activities of daily living in accordance with the Company’s established procedures and as may be directed by the Executive Director, Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator, Wellness Nurse, and Pharmacy Consultant and/or Medical Consultant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Keeps current on federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the protection of the rights of the resident. Preserving the safety, the dignity and self-respect of all residents at all times; practices confidentiality.
Assists residents with access to and participation in their recreational and social activities as needed. Will ensure that a minimum of one Resident Assistant remains with residents during all programming sessions.
Willing to help out in any emergency and provide a variety of support services in all departments as needed throughout the community.
State & Community Specific: Medication Management (including all job duties of Medication Tech).
State Specific: Records all medical and/or care entries on care records, notes, daily assessments and task sheets, etc. in an informative and descriptive manner.
Assists any resident that requires assistance with any Activities of Daily Living (ADL) per their service plan or ALIS assignment, and as needed.
Determines resident's problems, change in condition, and needs and addresses or refers them to appropriate personnel for assistance.
Promptly answers call signals; carries required pagers, scout phones, etc. as required; practices conservation of equipment, keeping them clean and ready to use.
Maintains clear communication with other Resident Assistants and Licensed Nurses via shift to shift reports to make sure set-up procedures and delivery of care is working smoothly.
Performs housekeeping and laundry duties as scheduled and as needed and practices conservation of equipment and supplies, keeping them clean and ready to use.

The Server/Utility worker is responsible for the implementation of dietary services to residents, and to provide an atmosphere of warmth and a pleasant reception in the dining room for residents to enjoy meals and meet with family and friends.

- Dispenses kindness to residents in large amounts; shows professional courtesy, is polite and helpful at all times.
- Read menu and any other communications when first reporting on duty and attends short meeting with shift leader and cook before each meal to review any changes.
- Checks with Front Desk for resident meal count; checks production sheets for assigned food preparation that shift is responsible for (i.e. salads, desserts).
- Aware of residents who are out ill and/or out of the building at meal times; reports it to the Front Desk.
- Aware of guests attending activities involving food service and helps out when needed
- Stays alert to residents who want 1/2 portions, special diets, etc.
- Prepares coffee and sets up creamer, butter and water on dining room tables approximately 30 minutes before serving time.
- Completes service to each station less than 30 minutes without sacrificing etiquette, style and efficiency. Waits tables in assigned areas in an efficient and courteous manner; maintains a smile and a cheerful attitude while on the floor. Pre-buses dishes before serving main entree to the resident.
- After a meal, clears butter and creamer from tables and returns them to refrigerator; makes sure the sugar containers and salt and pepper shakers are filled. Wipes down tables and chairs with cleaner and sets the tables. Follows through with proper storage of leftovers; utilizes leftovers wisely and avoids food waste.
- Aware of stock, locations and expiration dates on refrigerated items.
- Offer assistance to cook, when assigned work is completed.
- Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties including work areas, tables, appliances and floors.
- Assist in dish and utensil washing and cleaning including gathering soiled items from carts, trays and dining areas and placing clean items in proper storage areas.
